Located on a charming street in South Orange, NJ, we had the privilege of working on this beautiful 1893 Colonial-style home. With approximately 3,000 square feet of living space on a .17-acre lot, the property featured six bedrooms and two and a half baths, rich with historical character. From stained glass windows to intricate antique woodwork, Corinthian columns, and a screened porch, the home was full of unique architectural details. However, it required significant updates to bring it into the modern era while honoring its historical significance.

Project Approach
When we took on this project, our mission was to preserve the home’s original charm while enhancing its functionality and comfort. Our team meticulously restored the hardwood floors, ensuring that each room retained its timeless beauty. We modernized essential systems, such as hot water radiators and window A/C units, to improve efficiency and livability. The kitchen was transformed with new appliances and cabinetry, designed to blend seamlessly with the home’s historical aesthetic. Special care was taken to preserve standout features like the stained glass, Corinthian columns, and original staircase, while reconfiguring the layout to create a more open and welcoming atmosphere.
